Civic OpenMedia

Civic OpenMedia is a publishing system for government open data. Using OpenMedia, you can:

  • Quickly provide access to public data sets over the Internet in machine-readable form.
  • Define, collect, filter and organize information sources prior to publishing.
  • Access published content through a RESTful query interface.

  • Using community sharing capabilities, you may access and exchange data standards, content and additional resources with other organizations.

iPublic

Civic OpenMedia is an iPublic.org product. iPublic was started by Dan Thomas to promote better government through transparency, accountability and citizen engagement.

Prior to iPublic, Dan served as founding director and technology architect for the District of Columbia's DCStat program. In June 2006, DCStat became the first open government data program to start publishing live data feeds to the Internet for the city of Washington, DC.

Dan's teams and programs have received industry recognition and multiple awards, including: Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government Innovations in American Government, Best of Web, Intelligent Enterprise, NASCIO Outstanding Achievement, and URISA Exemplary Systems in Government
